Brainspotting
Brainspotting was developed by Dr. David Grand, in 2003. It started as an offshoot of EMDR and has become a powerful technique for clearing trauma and strengthening internal resources. Brainspotting is described as a “physiological therapy with psychological consequences”.

We are all wired for survival and when we experience trauma our body and mind go into survival mode. When a Brainspot is activated, the deep brain appears to know that the source of the problem has been found and activates the body’s innate ability to process and release memories/ emotions which are frozen in primitive survival modes. We believe that Brainspotting taps into and utilizes the body’s natural self-healing ability.
