Each session is tailored to empower individuals to meet their short and long term goals. I view therapy as a partnership, I am an expert in behavioral patterns and you are the expert on your life. Together we can create positive change in your life.

 

Having trouble sleeping? Learn to quiet your mind.  Struggling to get your point across? Develop effective communication and leadership skills. Although I specialize in Trauma Recovery, I often work with individuals experiencing mood swings, physical pains- headaches, low self-esteem and/or relationship issues. Together we will develop a positive self-esteem, healthy coping skills and stress management techniques.

 

 

 

 

 

The option of EMDR or Brainspotting will be explored for individuals who struggle with traditional "talk therapy" and want a more experiential, hands-on appraoch to working through thier current stressors or past trauma.  It is a non-invasive, client-focused method that addresses difficult experiences that have overwhelmed the brain’s natural resilience or ability to cope effectively. 

 

Negative thoughts, feelings and unhealthy behaviors are generally caused by unresolved memories and have a lasting negative impact on our lives.  They interfere with the way we see the world, the way we relate to other people and how we currently respond to stressors. EMDR has a direct effect on the way that the brain processes such information.

 

Single event traumas  (ie, sexual assault) can often be processed in 3-5 EMDR / Brainspotting sessions. Complex trauma (childhood abuse, or reoccurring trauma) often includes restructuring earlier experiences and desensitizing unhealthy coping mechanisms.  This work takes time, however the results are life changing for most individual.
